Road trip Must Haves for Toddlers

We recently took a road trip down to South Florida with the kids. This trip typically takes us about 5 hours depending on how many stops we have to make.
As I’m sure you know, or can imagine, kids get restless on long road trips. My boys are no exception. To battle this I have come up with a bag of activities to take along for the ride.

First? Snacks.

Goldfish, Fruit Snacks, Crackers, Applesauce pouches, and Cheerios

Next, I grab the I-pad with a couple of favorite movies downloaded.

Currently they are stuck on Coco and Home. Occasionally they will watch the whole movie, but typically in the car we get a solid 20-30 minutes out of it and then move on to another activity.

Now we are moving along to coloring and reading books.

For coloring, you are probably thinking I’m crazy. But the mess free markers make it so simple and fun for the kids.

For reading

Allister gets a couple of First 100…… board books and Alexander likes his Coco and If you give a Moose a muffin.

Fourthly we move on to Music, Pandora Disney Playlist is amazing

Everything from The Lion King to Moana , the whole family sings along.

Finally, you can never go wrong with bringing a couple of your childs favorite toys,
I typically grab a favorite stuffed animal for each, a couple of toy cars, and an interactive toy.

Don’t forget to grab a blanket for if they decide to take a nap!

I usually find that I use these things at least once for the trip there and back. Having things to keep the kids occupied keeps Parents and children happy. Here are some photos of our ride!
